YACARANDÁ is the musical branching of two worlds and their stories. The bandleader Lucas Dorado feels at home in several cultures due to his origins (Argentina & Switzerland). In his music, he harmonizes Argentinean folklore with new sounds taken from the, to him very familiar, Jazz.
In South America, Yacarandá is a tree that carries flowers with strong colors and whose roots can tell an infinite number of stories. Inspired by this, Lucas repeatedly introduces melodies that have their roots in Argentinian folklore and whose blossoms carry the color of modern sounds.
Musical works presented through a unique constellation in which South American percussion and double bass meet electric guitar and vibraphone. In addition, there is a voice, which is used as a further instrument that does not sing any lyrical text but completes the whole with a light gentle rattling or invigorating flowing. An extraordinary quintet which, through its harmony, gives the audience space to listen to the stories, like the relaxing rustling of leaves in a treetop.
